EMK recognised for 'Excellence in ESG'
EMK Capital was awarded the BVCA ‘Excellence in ESG’ award in 2021 which celebrates firms from across the private capital ecosystem that have made an outstanding commitment to ESG principles.
EMK Capital won the award for the GP category (AUM of more than £1bn) for its impressive response to the pandemic fromacross its portfolio, as well as strong evidence for each portfolio company regarding their ESG targets and achievements.
Portfolio Response
EMK Capital’s portfolio responded to the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic in ways ranging from making their expertise or products available to initiatives working to deal with the challenges and impact of the crisis, to providing enhanced wellbeing support to employees and other stakeholders. What is remarkable is that every company within the EMK portfolio launched some kind of socially focussed initiative, or partnership, in response to the challenge.
Although many of these initiatives originated from within the companies themselves, EMK Capital played a role in cross pollinating ideas amongst the portfolio and engaging with each portfolio company on its efforts and programs in response to the pandemic, from a risk management perspective, as well as how each was contributing to addressing societal challenges from an impact perspective.
