EMK Capital Partners closes fund at £575 million hard cap

EMK Capital LLP (“EMK” or the “Firm”) is pleased to announce that it has held its final close on EMK Capital Partners LP (the “Fund”), EMK’s first fund, at the £575 million hard cap.

The Fund was raised from first meeting to final close in just eight months. The Fund attracted commitments from a number of the world’s most experienced limited partners who are recognised leaders in the private equity asset class.

EMK is an independent firm, established to continue the proven investment strategy and superior track record of performance of the Managing Partners, Edmund Lazarus and Mark Joseph, at their predecessor firms Bregal Capital LLP and Oakley Capital Private Equity.

The Fund will focus on securing control or substantial influence predominantly in UK headquartered mid-market businesses where EMK has identified unrecognised and / or hard to realise value and where EMK can support companies in executing transformative change.

Edmund Lazarus and Mark Joseph commented, “We are delighted and grateful for the support that the Fund has received from a prestigious group of global investors. The entire team at EMK is determined to reward their confidence.”

EMK was founded in 2015 initially managing nine portfolio companies previously managed by Edmund at Bregal Capital. Two of these companies have since been sold but the remaining seven have a combined net asset value of c. £1 billion. Together with the Fund, EMK’s committed funds and net asset value under management are now in excess of £1.5 billion.

Campbell Lutyens & Co. Ltd acted as exclusive global placement agent for the offering. Proskauer Rose (UK) LLP acted as legal advisers.
