EMK acquires Reconomy

RECONOMY ACQUIRED BY EMK CAPITAL

EMK Capital LLP (“EMK”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Reconomy, the UK’s leading outsourced waste management business.

Reconomy principally offers outsourced waste handling services across the housebuilding, construction, infrastructure and commercial sectors. Reconomy operates as a broker; it does not deliver waste collection and processing directly (owning no fulfilment assets). Rather, it taps into its established, well managed and efficient supply chain network, utilising both general waste and specialist waste suppliers across the UK, to process, handle and manage waste.

EMK believes there are attractive and actionable opportunities for further transformational growth; Reconomy is the largest aggregator of waste volumes in the UK, managing more than three million tonnes annually, underpinned by its nationwide reach, best in class technology platform, high conversion of EBITDA to operating cash flow and ability to continue to consolidate the markets it serves and to enter adjacent markets.
